NCP march in Khagrachari today, increased security
The National Citizen Party (NCP)’s ‘Desh Garte July Padayatra’ program will be held in Khagrachari in the Chittagong Hill Tracts today, Monday. The march will start at 11 am from Chengi Square in Khagrachari town. Later, a public meeting will be held at the city’s Mukta Mancha. Law enforcement agencies have taken additional security measures in Khagrachari since this morning around these NCP programs.
NCP march in Khagrachari today, increased security
In the morning, it was seen that various areas of Khagrachari town had been built in various places welcoming NCP leaders. In addition, banners and festoons were hung. Law enforcement agencies were seen stationed at every corner of the city. When asked, Khagrachhari Police Superintendent Arefin Jewel said that the police are on alert around the NCP program. According to NCP sources, top leaders including NCP convener Nahid Islam, southern region chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah, northern region chief organizer Sarjis Alam and joint member secretary Tasnim Zara are expected to be present at the Khagrachhari program today.
NCP southern region organizer and Khagrachhari Zilla Parishad member Manzila Akhter Jhuma said that people from nine upazilas of the district will come to the program. The march will start from Chengi Square in Khagrachhari at 11 am. Then, it will go through Mahajanpara, Narkel Bagan Bazar to Adalat Road and end at Shapla Chattar. Later, a public meeting will be held at Mukta Mancha. She said, “We hope that all parties will support our peaceful program.”
